Businesses engaged in car washing and polishing in the state of California (CA) must have a CA car wash registration license on file with the state’s Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE). This license, among other required documents, is legally required if an auto detailing company is engaged in washing, cleaning, drying, polishing, detailing, servicing, or otherwise providing cosmetic care to vehicles. Autohaus Polishing is in full compliance with the state’s laws and licensing requirements.
In addition to actively maintaining a CA car wash registration, our detailing facility maintains the following insurance policies:
- $150k Surety Bond Filed with the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE)
- Workers’ Compensation Insurance
- Garage Keepers Legal & Garage Liability Insurance
CA Car Wash Registration Verification
Autohaus Polishing strongly encourages consumers and businesses to verify the credentials of any business primarily engaged in car washing and polishing before contracting their services. Verification of registration can be made by visiting the state’s website by clicking here.
Car Wash Bond Required
One of the requirements for a CA car wash registration license is for the business to have a surety bond. These surety bonds ensure that the principals (owners) of car washes and detailing companies pay their employees all earned wages, interest on wages, and any fringe benefits due to the employees according to Sections 351 and/or 353 of the California Labor Code. If the car wash fails to correctly pay all of these sums, the car wash bond would then protect the harmed parties (employees) from financial loss up to the full sum of the bond. The car wash principal (owner) would must then reimburse the surety for all damages paid out. State of California requires a $150k car wash bond.
